Holiday Cottages
Old Manor House Pig Barn and Monks' Granary Barn Cottages are created from Grade II Listed Barns dating from 1595. They are carefully converted to 4**** Visit Britain quality standards and are located in the middle of historic West Dean village. Good access to the A27 (3 miles) and the A259 (1 mile) gives a short journey to Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne and the South Downs. Situated in the centre of the delightful Friston forest village of West Dean 1 mile from the sea at Cuckmere Haven with the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs and Beachy Head nearby.

Walk some of the South Downs Way. It's a beatiful trail leading from Eastbourne to Winchester and passes through West Dean. You can pick up the trail at West Dean Pond going East over Exceat Hill to the Seven Sisters, Birling Gap, Beachy Head and on to Eastbourne returning on the Coast Bus No.12. Setting off West towards Alfriston and the Ouse valley along the Downs escarpment are superb Wealden views and Neolithic Camps to see on the way to Lewes where you can return by train.
We are within a few minutes of the local Inns with good food but in an "incredibly beautiful village" away from streetlights, traffic and noise. In the middle of Friston Forest with owls, badger and pheasant for company and space for walks especially with dogs. At Cuckmere Haven dogs have free run of the unspoilt beach and it is great for beachcombing adults too!
